Small Agateware Mug w Round Handle in Blue, Pink, Black & White
This small Agateware mug is the perfect match for a lil' bit of something special like a cortado. Not to worry, comfortably holding 6oz means she'll still serve you a respectable amount your morning coffee or tea.
You are going to just love the way this feels in your hand. The glossy clear glaze that covers the surface really magnifies the gem like quality of these mugs.
Every part of this pot is considered with you in mind: the feeling of your mouth on the lip, the weight of the pot in your hand, how the foot meets your table. Each handle is the culmination of over a decade of research, watching the way people hold my cups, listening to their feedback and really just spending more time than you think one person could devote to thinking about handles.
Approximately 3" x 2.75" x 4.5". Holds 6oz comfortably.
My agateware collection is my most direct reference to earth these pots came from and depending on the colors used, takes on an extraterrestrial quality.
Each pot is made from multiple pieces of hand stained porcelain, prearranged in a striated pattern and then thrown and trimmed on the potter's wheel. Some pots are faceted on the wheel with a cheese slicer or later on in the process with a sure form (think cheese grater) disrupting the pattern while also giving your hands places to explore and revisit with each use.
The pots are obsessively sanded, first at the bisque stage and then again after they come out of the high fire. The result is a surface that looks and feels like a river stone. These pots are meant to be held and maybe even cherished.
